# nt3 remove

> Permanently remove named translation keys from a project.

Use `nt3 remove` to delete only the key names you specify. The command does not delete keys absent from local files. It does not edit local files. Linked translation records are not currently deleted.

```bash theme={null}
nt3 remove --key old.button --yes
nt3 remove --key save --namespace menu --yes
nt3 remove --key old.button --key old.title --yes --json
nt3 remove old.button old.title --yes
```

`--yes` is required because deletion is permanent. Key names match exactly. Use `--namespace` when the key belongs to a namespace; without it, the command selects only keys in the empty namespace. Repeated names count once.

The API checks every requested key before deletion. If any key is missing, it removes none and the CLI exits with code `1`. `--json` prints `{ "removed": number, "notFound": [{ "key": string, "namespace": string }] }`.

If multiple records match the same key and namespace, the API rejects the request. It does not delete an ambiguous key.
